I saw a late night parade of Bobcats in my neighborhood as they finally freed up some streets and locked in vehicles. Out on Northern Parkway by Sinai they had front end loaders spilling ice into dump trucks. With no melt, the city is trying to get this stuff out.
We are close to undetectable, when it's done with care and no sloppiness. Everything goes sideways when it gets polished to the point of undetectable. My work at MAP points to the edge of undetectable. I see 0 movement in the United States to regulate it at the Federal level.

UMBC just called it asynchronous for the remainder of the week. Wild start to the semester, but clearing vast lots and walkways of ice inundated snow has been tough.

On the anniversary of my stroke I am thinking of the powerful Irish proverb: "Ar scΓ‘th a chΓ©ile a mhaireann na daoine," which translates to "Under the shelter of each other, people survive".
May this same spirit of community shelter carry us through the troubles roiling American cities.
I visited that village in 2005, and it was haunted by the Nazi past.
