I call it the "magic pixie dust" effect. Some books/authors seem to get sprinkled with this magic pixie dust that makes them blow up huge and fly off the shelves, but the vast majority of books don't have the same success. It is MADDENING to me. 🧐

As to why the Gargoyle Queen series didn’t sell as well . . . it’s hard to say. Maybe readers wanted more Evie Blair, instead of switching to Gemma Ripley. The Gargoyle Queen series also came out during the pandemic, which I think impacted on sales, although there’s no way to know for sure.

However, CAPTURE THE CROWN – amzn.to/4bEpSNi – and the other books in my Gargoyle Queen romantasy series did not sell as well. Since the Gargoyle Queen series didn’t sell as well, my publisher decided that they didn’t want any more books in my Shards world. Hence, no Delmira story/third trilogy.
