Looking at #Sounders midfield for 2026 now with Vargas, JP & Leyva all gone... It's Roldan + new guy coming off major injury who hasn't started a match since March, '25, 18 y/o with only 6 MLS apps, and another new guy who failed to make an impact in his 2 years as a u22 signing at Charlotte.
So the implication you're making here, is that any club he would accept going to was either not interested in him over the past couple years, or at least not enough to get seriously into talks with the Sounders prior to the current deal being finalized with Atleti? (or his list was Atleti or bust?)

No, I'm arguing that if a player has made that decision,as in this case, you (GM) facilitate getting a deal done before the final contract year. that's what I mean by a self made mess. Like did they overvalue his potential fee last summer? not prioritize it? or what? that's what I'm getting at
