Last week was the first time I’ve ever been disappointed in a severance episode. The current-moment plot advancements were fine, and the whole thing was pretty to look at, I just wish it had been such a gorgeous depiction of a story I haven’t seen fifty bazillion times. I thought this ep fucking rocked. Full stop, but especially compared to last week’s. If they were going to devote 60% of an episode to backstory it should at least have been a less hacky story. I thought this week’s crushed it in every department.

Had this exact thought. The end goal ISN’T an illusion that men and women are assaulted equally — very much the opposite. It’s that white women are fragile victims who thus belong in the home where they can be protected by white men.

People are taking actions. Walking around in the streets with signs so that we can get either ignored or beaten/arrested just isn’t proving to be an action with our energy. Our actions are getting more local and more private.

The protests in 2016 accomplished literally nothing. Subsequent protests, like in 2020 about police brutality and in 2023 about the genocide in Gaza, also did… wait for it… literally nothing. Our current govt does not respond to protests.
