The Trump Administration Is Trying to Have Its Vaccine Policy Both Ways Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his subordinates want Americans to have more conversations with their physicians. But they also can’t seem to stop disparaging the medical establishment.

Trust yourself, not your doctor.

Every individual needs to talk to their doctor before putting a medication into their body.

Which is it? MAHA is talking out of both sides of its mouth when it comes to vaccines.

Overheard someone talking about how germs aren’t real. It’s mucus flowing in your blood that makes you sick. Should I let RFK Jr know about this promising candidate for CDC director?

The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.

We aren't able to say no. Or even provide direct feedback as we need to keep journals and editors happy.

Easy to say submit elsewhere, but not always an option. And this problem isn't unique to this journal.

America’s Real ‘Secretary of War’ How public health became an endless battle

America’s Real ‘Secretary of War’

As Kennedy and his aides press their case in public, they adopt a persistently antagonistic tone not only toward disease but also toward the medical and scientific establishment.

Subscription-Based Pricing for Lenacapavir—Learning From Hepatitis C and Cabotegravir The PURPOSE-1 and PURPOSE-2 trials showed that twice-yearly lenacapavir provided 100% and 96% protection, respectively, when used as HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP).1 Subsequent studies have shown even longer-acting formulations can be given once yearly. While lenacapavir is not a vaccine, practically speaking, it has many of the same benefits. But high drug costs have held back the real-world impact of long-acting injectable PrEP. Subscription-based pricing, formally known as payer license agreements (PLAs) but now commonly referred to as the Netflix model, can facilitate widespread lenacapavir use, a key step in ending the HIV epidemic. Get Access

PURPOSE trials: lenacapavir PrEP gave 96-100%🛡️; yearly shots possible. High costs limit use; Netflix-style pricing could boost access, aiding HIV epidemic end.💉💰

I am once again humbly asking, what is the purpose of restricting citation numbers?

Writers should cite as much as indicated. No more, no less.

Editors can remove citations they deem unneccessary.

Restricting citations leads to under and improperly citing of work.

A stylized letter in the shape of a woman’s torso with dialogue printed inside. The text is a back-and-forth exchange labeled “Voice Over,” “Donald,” and “Jeffrey,” discussing life, enigmas, and friendship. At the bottom, it ends with “A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Signed “Donald J. Trump” with his signature. A caption below reads: “A photo of the letter, which has been turned over to Congress by the Epstein estate.”

I worry a great deal about AI's impact on humanity in the long run. But in the short run, chatGPT / other AI has really made many unpleasant parts of life far more efficient / less bad.

i.e. coding, monotonous writing, etc.

OpenEvidence has changed how I find answers for patients daily.

Sorry, I'm sick of myself even as I type these words, but when I hear "we should never have used it for young people" all I see is someone who has never practiced medicine and certainly did not spend 2020 and 2021 watching healthy 30 year-olds get ARDS.

You can't teach U.S. history without "divisive" narratives. Slavery wasn't "unifying." The Japanese incarceration wasn't "unifying." The anti-immigrant Operation Wetback (real name) wasn't "unifying."
It's history's job to tell the truth, not cover up past racism to pave the way for future racism.

Note also that the lawsuit alleges that because race and class are correlated, providing free tuition to lower income students is also racial preference.

They just want a pure aristocracy of inherited wealth

How Ivermectin Became Right-Wing Aspirin Once a suspect COVID treatment, now a cure for everything

This one hits close to home as I recently had a (well meaning, very loving) cousin inquire about it's use for my dad's colon cancer.

The unfounded, conspiratorial, claims promoting ivermectin pushed by people in power, have serious consequences for patients.
