Today makes 2 years since I was hospitalized due to transphobia at Aberdeen and an extremely abusive supervisor. There are many difficult days and the uni still has does nothing to change, but Iβm proud of myself for the healing that has occurred, and for still chasing my dream of getting my PhD
The teacher I'm preparing a presentation for through @skypeascientist.bsky.social said they are currently learning about predation and adaptations, and how animals develop "cool behaviors to survive" and I literally CANNOT WAIT to tell them about fulmars π

(2/2) That president interrupted and told him he needed to address both of us, as we both represented the sport of rugby for the uni. And itβs crazy that a teenager at some uni can do what olympians apparently cannot.
(1/2) In uni I was president of the womenβs rugby team, and at an athletics meeting, a new trainer asked to speak to the rugby teams, as he would be working with us the most. When we introduced ourselves, he looked right past me and spoke only to the menβs team president.
Hearing crickets from the loud anti-trans "protect women's sports!" crowd after such an ugly display of misogyny by this administration and the US mens hockey team, belittling the Olympic womens team and their accomplishments (even though they also won gold)

A white background with six digital drawings of Procellariiformes birds, three in a row on top and three on the bottom. On the righthand side of the image are the years 2022 and 2026, for top and bottom respectively. The top row has basic drawings of an albatross, storm-petrel, and petrel, and the bottom row has more detailed drawings of an albatross, storm-petrel, and shearwater
Been working on some designs for an upcoming talk, and after finding a few Procellariiformes I drew upon starting my PhD, I'm quite happy with the progress I've (slowly) been making!
