Bombing doesn’t bring democracy. Troops on the ground can’t impose democracy. Long term occupation doesn’t make democracy. The people have to want to change - a hard lesson from history.

The film’s 1960s dialogue is quite a contrast with today’s events.
Loads of historical inaccuracy, compensated by great actors and pretty costumes.

Do victorious armies in civil war fight to put the defeated leaders back in power? Once the armies began fighting, both sides envisaged the destruction of the other.

Does monarchy ever relinquish power - does it find other outlets like institutions, hedge funds etc?
Once they took power, the parliamentarians struggled in power. They had no plan and chaos reigned - a very British affair.
No, it was far more complex and confused. It started in civil war, descended into revolution, stirred counter- revolution and ended in restoration.
In my youth I would choose parliament. Today, a plague on both their houses.
I was citing Richard Harris. When I first saw the film, on its opening, people would say this could never happen again. As the evidence unravels over are we still certain of such things not happening?

The Prisoners of Cell Block Epstein - it’s going to be very crowded.
The framework of a ‘rule’ based society has flatlined. Democracy is propagandised by political extremists especially through YouTube. The Epstein case is causing a further fracture as parliament loses control of the political system. Everybody is angry - anarchy lurks.
