Trump is precisely what he’s always been. But he is unfettered by pesky aides who know better, by a responsible Supreme Court, by a functioning Congress, etc. His role models have long been murderous dictators - he wants to outdo Putin, Netanyahu, Orban, etc. The scary part is Americans letting him.
She provides no evidence of seniors moving to Alberta to take advantage of social programs. She suggests seniors might do this if Alberta’s programs are too generous. Seniors shopping for gov’t goodies is a phony scapegoat. Like non-existent voter fraud in the U.S.
MAGA is the most toxic, hollow, phony, grifty, obnoxious, fraudulent, culty, soulless political movement in US history built on lies, hate, paranoia and greed. And as it unravels, so many rats will claim they were never really on the ship.

I suppose one could say both are game-changers in different arenas. But accepting - however grudgingly - that the price for Jordan’s sui generis artistry is the white supremacy, depravity, kleptocracy and comprehensive criminality of Trump is a very bad deal and just plain outrageously wrong. IMO.
I defer to your technical expertise. But the big picture is disturbing. Hegseth et al are framing the war in Iran as a religious one; U.S. forces are on the boil in Ecuador; Trump is cavalierly talking about attacking Cuba next. The ‘no-more-wars’ guy clearly loves this. Chill? Not likely.
Someone who disdains “stupid rules of engagement” in war, who exults in the unfettered power to summarily murder people at sea, is unbothered by something as fusty as the U.S. Constitution. This is gangsterism, tribal warfare. Guy with the most guns wins.

Trudeau was PM for nearly 10 years. The story notes that Carney’s polling numbers resemble those of the Liberals during Trudeau’s first term in a majority parliament. Don’t compare Poilievre, a shabby heckler, to Trudeau.
