Recently I've been reading and enjoying James Islington's Hierarchy series and so I decided to make my own version of the map as well! Hoping to finish The Strength of the Few today. Only a hundred pages or so left to go 😄

Some of the very overt foreshadowing has got me very excited to keep on reading. I had to get out a highlighter and pencil after finishing the first chapter just to highlights some of those sentences and to write down my thoughts. I don't typically annotate, so that's new for me as well

Started reading James S.A. Corey's The Mercy of Gods yesterday and it's been a hoot! Really loving it so far, especially the build-up of tension leading up to Part 2 of the book ✨ I'll have to get around to reading The Expanse at some point as well.

Finished up a black and white commission a couple of days ago and both the client and I are quite pleased with the map. Often I feel like I'm harder to please than the people I work with, but on this occasion I'm thrilled with the final results!

A somewhat dated meaning of the word ejaculate is something that is said quickly and abruptly, so I can sort of vaguely see why the AI might suggest that, but the only place where I've encountered that meaning of the word has been in classic works of literature
Ooh things are looking gorgeous! Colouring is always a terrifying process for me. I feel like I'm wrangling chaos and hoping that by the end of it all things will make sense and I'll be satisfied with the results
It is hard to know what goes inside the mind of a mountain. Would be nice if they helped me plot some stories though

The new crabs are looking great. Love how textured they are now. I'll share what's probably my very first fantasy map from around 2013 or 2014 and one from last year ✨

Finally at the shading stage! The linework is done, for now (I'll probably add a bunch of labels later once I've thought of names) so now on to adding some shade to bring some life into it before moving on to the colour stage. Feeling pretty good about this map so far!
