Yeah, but FCY’s father was military too, since Xie Zheng recognised the martial arts moves he’d taught FCY when she fought the useless gambling den gang. We then had that flashback scene showing a young Xie Zheng learning them too - from a military officer, who’s maybe “Fan Erniu”.

That’s right. The Wei chancellor’s wife talks about a maternal uncle being as good as a father - meaning that it’s Xie Zheng’s mother who was a Wei (sister to the chancellor).

The hairpin setting looks to be made from the same hammered iron as the butchery knives, which does suggest a military aspect to FCY’s mother.

Good luck for that! I hope you get something helpful from them. I’m currently waiting to hear back from my POTS-specialist cardiologist about a load of autonomic functioning and BP tests I did. It’s clear I’ve got hyperadrenergic POTS now but I don’t know if he prescribes the med I want to try next.
