Watching Obama speak is a reminder that leadership can be thoughtful, disciplined, and grounded in democratic values.

From an Icelandic perspective, tone, integrity, and institutional respect are not partisan, they are prerequisites to trust.

Hope exists, but only if we uphold those standards.

Mark Carney’s speech struck me because it carries the kind of moral clarity and future-focused courage that great speeches — like ‘I Have a Dream’ — have always stood for.
We need more leaders, including in Iceland, who speak from conviction rather than convenience.
