Tory peer to leave House of Lords after investigation finds he breached standards over Β£50m Covid PPE deals
Lord Chadlington introduced government to supplier in which he had financial interest in 2020
Our complaint against Lord Chadlington has been upheld.
He has been suspended for 1 year. We welcome his decision to step down.
However long it takes, we will continue pursuing accountability for figures who abused their positions during the pandemic.

Ongoing issues today:
"Wider access to vaccination...
Legislation around air quality...
Mask wearing in healthcare settings that would protect the vulnerable."
These are simple things, but they have become so politicised."

Itβs a popular position among the far right to decry trans people as mentally ill
But the real illness is any society targeting a portion of their population and insisting: βYou must dress this way, and only this way, in order to be accepted as human and valid.β

After years of evidence, the Covid Inquiry hearings end today.
The Inquiry will publish 8 reports over the next 2 years that will provide a blueprint for changing this country and saving lives.
But that change will only happen if we fight for it.

Text reads: there's laundry to do and a genocide to stop. I have to eat better and also avoid a plague. my rent went up $150. I'll need to pick up more shifts. Twenty people died in Rafah this morning and every major news outlet is stretching the limits of passive voice to suggest whole families may have leaped up through the air at missiles that otherwise had the right of way. I just got a notification that my student loan payments are starting up again and my phone isn't charged. My cousin got COVID for a fourth time and can no longer work or walk or even feed himself. The person across from me on the L train seems to fashion themself a punk rock revolutionary, but they're not wearing a face mask, and that's the kind of cognitive dissonance that makes me want to steal batteries. Fascists keep winning primaries for both parties, and I think I gained a few pounds. The CDC just announced there are no more speed limits on highways, and I think this Ativan is finally hitting. The NYPD farmer's market only sells bad apples, have you heard that one? Listen it's warm today, too warm for March. But I don't have time to think through the implications because there's laundry to do and a genocide to stop.

i really wish people hadnβt declared it over and chucked their masks in the garbage, when it was absolutely not over.
we didnβt used to be sick ALL THE TIME.
but the average adult is on their fifth covid infection, and so many kids have never known life without the impacts of repeated infections.

Be the haunted creature in the catacombs.
Be the ghostly noise in the attic of a gothic manor.
Be the reason villagers stay away from the ragged edge of the mossy forest.

In one four-day period in March 2025, engineers logged 205 maintenance calls. Sailors reported working up to 19-hour days to fix leaks and restore suction, with problems in a single head capable of disabling an entire section of the ship. Since 2023, the Navy has carried out at least 10 acid flushes, each costing about $400,000, though the procedure cannot be performed while the carrier is underway.
The sailors on the USS Gerald Ford who keep stuffing their t-shirts into the toilets so the bathrooms flood and the carrier canβt deploy to Iran should be awarded a collective Nobel Peace Prize

Famously reclusive author.
Does reclusive script writer count? (Even though I still have to work a 9-5 to afford life lol) If so, I kinda nailed it, mainly thanks to having no choice but to shield for the last 6 years. But still, living the dream right? ... Right?! π

Now there is hope! It's no longer a choice between grim and grimmer. We can vote for who we want and win. Anywhere.
It's just one constituency, but the Green victory in Gorton and Denton is an electric shock to our political system.
