I have a design system ice breaker questions in my wallet always.
Ready for action.
Wonβt it depend on how fast the systemβs users wants the ui component to build the feature and the use-cases of it?
Hmm.. maybe new year resolutions should start in March after some mvp and beta testing.
Design system people. I have a tricky question.
If centrally dedicated DS team has community component contributions, will it be known as a Hybrid team model.
-1 degree and football time. Now I need that poppy seed cake.
Iβm curious about how many design system teams do usability testing and how do they do it?
Need to make 24 Paper bags for advent calendar.
Design systems? What design systems?
Something new my teams ask themselves before we start a sprint.
How many context switches do we have?
As a design system team, you would deal tasks of different context, communications and collaborations in one shot. Too many context switches drains and itβs important to get the right balance.
Gary has an extensive wardrobe of dresses. They come different colors, outfits, shapes and sizes.
Need to choose my priorities and define the Q1 OKR and 2025 challenges.
But now I have to make 25 paper bags to be hanged on the advent calendar.
If a DS team havenβt agreed with a user on adopting their upcoming feature, then that feature is likely to be used in the near future. When many such features with broken-promises are released, the system usually ends up with a lot of not-used features.
Thatβs the bloat.
If you donβt want to bloat your design system, request your users to add the DS adoption to their OKRs / project plans / roadmap or any sort of agreement plan.
Biscuits!
We made biscuits today and I cannot even get one good circle.
I wanted to cook a Risotto yesterday. Maybe today is that day
My team did a demo today for a pilot product. They were amazing!
Design systems are about making sure stickers are given to every people using it.
Can a design system manager also get in the starter park? : )
An image explaining the time in hand for a design system manager
DS managers need to consider their time in hand to fulfil the product manager's responsibilities within a design system.
Some may have only 20% of their time available, allowing them to manage only minimal scope, whereas others can completely own the system with 100% of their time.
#designsystem
Component. The sodium and chloride of the salt are the tokens.
Both are kind of the same . I mix stuff to create stuff! : )
It could be then called like a shared metric where the feature teams are also responsible.
Yea. One way to measure it is see how many features are released in a period of time and is that number increasing. Itβs not easy to measure because there are many factors in feature development and not just Design and UI.
Updated. Its Delivery hero
Isnβt it something for the product who is adopting the system?
A system can influence and support the adoption but if the system is not adopting itself, why should it have that as metric?
I maybe wrong here.
Adoption is not a design system metrics.
Who are the design system lovers over here?
And yea.. cooking?
Well well.. now that we are here. Let us learn and build a better world
