Samuel Loveman (1887-1976) was a gay Jewish poet, bookman, and amateur journalist. Lovecraft stumbled across Lovemanβs work in 1917 and admired his poetry, and the two began a long correspondence and friendship, with Lovecraft often praising and boosting Lovemanβs work. The two finally met in 1921 in New York City, both of them invited there by Sonia H. Greene (Lovecraftβs future wife). In 1922 Lovecraft visited Loveman in Cleveland, where he met Lovemanβs friend the gay poet Hart Crane (1899-1932), and others in their circle, including composer Gordon Hatfield, the βprecious sissyβ in the above letter. In 1924 Lovecraft and Greene eloped to New York; Loveman and Crane moved there as well, with Loveman as Lovecraftβs upstairs neighbor for a period. In time, the marriage failed, and Lovecraft moved back to Providence, RI.

Cambridge University has just announced that the proposal to close its undergraduate course in veterinary medicine, which would have led to the end of its Vet School and Hospital, has been dropped.
The vets will carry on with the reforms they had already launched and the course continues. Victory!!

my first degree was in Metallurgy and fracture mechanics was one of the most amazzing topics!
A very bedraggled-looking Little Owl is slumped in the hollow of a tree, eyes half-closed and feathers ruffled. Its expression is one of pure exhaustion, as if it has just rolled out of bed and immediately regretted it. Nestled in its cosy nook, it appears utterly unprepared for the day ahead, radiating the unmistakable energy of someone who desperately needs a strong coffee before dealing with anything remotely productive.
Mood: unprepared and under-caffeinated.
