I was about to say, based on the stuff he was saying it sounded like some type of mental health episode or break from reality.

And then the ADHD comes in to hyper fixate on what counts as being “depressed” for More than half the days. Like I was sad on Tuesday, but like sad sad on Friday, but felt okay on Monday.

In that regard, that’s where I think social media can be more dangerous because it reaffirms the group mentality (and the consequences of voicing an opinion “outside” the group).
I do think social media is definitely more amplified. But I know for my parents who aren’t engaged in social media, they still are absorbing information from radio, TV, news, without considering how it’s “tailored” to them. What I think social media has done is made it more relationship based. (1/2)
Honestly, it’s pretty much all media and the only way to combat it is to accept that everyone (including you) is susceptible to those tactics. Accepting that makes you more comfortable with being skeptical.
