Got a lovely surprise today: a $400 import duty bill on a gold ring from New Zealand...turns out I got slapped with an extra 15% country-based duty on top of the 5.5% duty on imported gold jewelry.
I absolutely fucking detest the current administration's inability to understand basic economics.
