Four years ago I woke up at 5 am from distant explosions. I asked my boyfriend if he heard them too, he said he didn’t and I should go back to sleep. I tried to calm myself down, went on the internet, it was silent, no news or explanations.

It's funny that I can listen to metal or punk songs about violent horrific murder stuff and bop along like it's nothing, but if I get a sniff of prejudice in the lyrics or the band members I instantly hit the eject button. I assume because the one is obvious Halloween hyperbole and the other's real.
