Happy birthday to Hungary’s first F1 driver, Zsolt Baumgartner, who was born #OnThisDay 1 January 1981. Born in Budapest and competed in 20 F1 races for Jordan and Minardi, later moving to the US as a test driver for Minardi’s ChampCar team until its exit from the series in 2008.

Remembering Harry Blanchard, born #OnThisDay in 1929.

The 1959 SCCA Class F Production Champion, Blanchard raced his F2 Porsche RSK to a 7th place finish at the 1959 US Grand Prix. He was killed in an accident at the 1000 km Buenos Airess in January 1960.

2009 – Jenson Button continues his sensational start to the 2009 season

#OnThisDay Button secured his third victory in four races with a hard-fought win at the 2009 Bahrain GP. He would go on to win 6 of the first 7 races, all but securing his path to the 2009 World Championship.
