I don't understand how the economics will work if it really allows you to install Steam. Consoles are subsidized by game licensing. If devs can release on Steam and players can play Steam PC games on this box... where and how is MS making money on those games?
I think the original plan was 2027, because they're getting their teeth kicked in by Sony and want to move on from the Series X generation. But, with RAM pricing only going up? Oof. Could be 2028 now.

As Jason noted in his article, Sony didn’t see a way forward on PC b/c Valve gets 30% of every sale. I don’t see how MS overcomes that either if the XboxPC can install Steam. I think in the end this PC dance becomes a weird one off thing that both companies back away from.

Started reading this last evening. It's a great romp. The main characters are quite likeable and I'm rooting for them. Just about to begin Chapter 25. This book is a great read. Thrills, mystery and a nice amount of spice.

Great point. I do think the planned Xbox PC could be thing that helps them find a reason to get people buying their hardware again. I just don't understand how the multiple stores are supposed to work. Steam PC sales will crush their Xbox store + they won't get a cut of those sales.
