My second List in 24 hours. Marking major reform as the Hereditary Bill has finally passed. A new Civil Society Council is formed and the majority of water bill increases have been stopped. Good news for UK startups and those producing wind turbines. Labour is rebuilding Britain

I don’t think he knows the meaning of ‘productive’. He thinks it means conceding endlessly only to be played along further until you’ve lost any credibility. In that case, Trump is ⭐ ⭐️ ⭐️

Reform voted against it
Remember that when they come round Friar Park and Princes End pretending to understand and asking for votes from low income families
Let’s send them packing

The UK’s public leadership pipeline has fallen into disrepair
Institutions are failing to deliver basic commitments because of failures of leadership
One of the oddest features of the Coalition is that they delighted in criticising the civil service’s lack of skills whilst cutting back on civil service training. www.ft.com/content/3599... The UK’s public leadership pipeline has fallen into disrepair

Would this be the same Iran conflict Kemi Badenoch has just spent an entire week calling Keir Starmer a coward for not wanting to join?

Big Pharma using Trump to force NHS to pay more for drugs by breaking drugs deals NHS struck with the industry. Pharma saying U.K. deters innovation. If Pharma want more profits, then U.K. gov should stipulate £billions for R&D in Britain from them. Put me on the negotiating team.

A Brief History of America’s Involvement in Iran - The American Prospect
For many younger Americans, this is the first U.S. war in the Middle East. Here’s how we got here.
I'm back from a week off, anything happen while I was away?
Oh yeah, that. Well fortunately Naomi Bethune has supplied for me an entire history of U.S. intervention in Iran. Something to share with your underinformed friends:

The complacency of it:’short war’ with few consequences and ‘US well insulated’. These people are responsible for the economy? The only thing insulated here is their smugness.

The right celebrating Trumps latest put down of Starmer….
Salivating at a peadophile trashing a democratically elected PM because we won’t do exactly what he wants us to do is not a good look for Tories and Reform…
However this from Polanski is also utterly ridiculous

Which probably makes me swerve when I come across ‘patriotism’ and flag waving. I’m Irish: we know what damage militant patriotism can do. national identity must always be bracketed with constraints: your nationhood is not better than that of others; should not delegitimate or trump others.

But, what one does with ‘love’ (a transformative force indeed) is material. Not the warm feeling, but the firmness of purpose, inclusion and clarity of goals. ‘Love’ of others/country is not unconditional. I will not embrace false patriots, ethnonationalists, haters, the militant or power hungry.

‘Love of country’ isn’t enough to save your country. I don’t think you disagree. Love of country is also claimed by those who would shoot us in the face. That’s the limits of ‘patriotism’. It may be an abstract good. I subscribe to abstract foods myself- solidarity, society, culture and place.

Ok, let’s compare with Europe. U.K. petrol = £1.35 p litre or £6.75 5l/ gallon. France €1.80 litre €9 5l/gallon. Germany €2/€10. Currency conversion U.K. gallon of gas = $9. France $10.40, Germany = $11.56. You’ve loads of headroom, Americans. Maybe that lovely Venezuelan oil will ease the pain.
