Had it happen to me, too! My first doctor was able to prescribe by sending a letter describing all the reasons it *had* to be this one med. My next doctor didn't write the letter as persuasively, and they made me fail off of *four* other meds before they would refill the one we knew would work.

You will be getting a denial letter in the mail that will lis the exact reason for denial (insurance is required to provide the reason in writing).

My guess is they want you to try and fail off of something cheaper first. If that's the case the letter will name the exact prescription/s.

I think this is actually quite common in K-Dramas, which live somewhere between soap operas and romance stories.

But I'll give you that western TV isnt great at highlighting romance! (Even in RomComs, the story telling tools mirror comedy more than romance)

If you're in a group chat for a romance book fandom, it is safe to assume at least one (1) of the people fangirling is a practicing attorney or retired lawyer, no matter how small the chat may be

For Jean, it's dyeing the the ship black (like a pirate witch ship), they even have a conversation about it being a point of no return.

For Kanat, it's staring out to see, watching enemy ships pursue them, and realizing he would sooner die then let them capture the crew (and then he almost does!)

really digging into story structure and character motivations and the myriad of ways KJC uses language choice and thematics to imply and infer.

These are books that trust their readers to understand complexity and subtext and they are a delight to bury myself in as a reader and disect as an author.

I've been reading a lot of fluffy books the last few years in these trying times (nothing wrong with that!), but some of the KJC backlog
is so remarkably complex and meaty that I've been pulling out my literary analysis glasses for the first time in ages -

I have read 12 KJ Charles books in the last two weeks, I am OBSESSED.

There is a true mastery of craft here, and a grafting of Gothic and mystery plot structures onto (weaving into?) romantic and emotional arcs that is enthralling in it's execution.

Looking to read trans man/cis man regency-age-ish historical romance, if you have any beloved indy recs drop them my way!

Both books are so wonderfully done, but Luke's journey in particular hit me somewhere deep and wrung my soul out to dry. I love these books immensely and I'm so glad you wrote them. (2/2)
