Reading in II Kings, it's interesting how many of Judah's kings were righteous and yet failed to remove the idols in the high places. It's a common thread running through the book and you could see where this failure would lead later.

The Apostle Paul was writing about the Old Testament in II Timothy 3:16-17. Remember, the New Testament did not exist at the time and the only Scripture they had was the Old Testament.
Look up how many times "it is written" is in the New Testament.
There are "christians" today who are so filled with hate toward Jews that they actually reject the Old Testament in favor of the New Testament.
This is heresy and rebellion. The Old Testament is the Word of God and is still valuable to us today.

The vast majority of church discipline is informal. People who love you talk to you about areas of concern. Sometimes they will be wrong. Most of the time, YOU are wrong. Be humble and respectful. Assume they know what they are talking about. Do not be defensive.
