The TikTok CEO being vocally supportive of Trump and that eerie message we are all getting in app is enough to make me nuke my account once access is restored later this week. Owners of social media platforms being buddy buddy with government fascists is dystopian af.

This is a propaganda masterpiece. Tens of millions of people who know nothing about politics will see this & when TiKTok is back Trump will take full credit (& a huge kickback) & no one will care the ban was his idea in the first place. An idea an idiot cadre of elderly Dems went along with. 🤡 💩

After Donald Trump brings back TikTok, which he and Republicans banned, he is going to ban and bring back McDonald’s, Diet Coke, Chick-fil-A, Bud Light, Keurig machines, Nike sneakers, Starbucks, Oreos, Disney movies, and maybe even the Bible – just to make his base cheer for him twice as hard.

Just a reminder of some of the context around the TikTok ban: In 2020, Trump tried to ban it via executive order a couple months after K-pop fans used it to organize fake signups to Trump’s Tulsa rally, which led him to publicly overestimate how large the crowd size would be.

Now that TikTok has officially gone dark, I’m re-upping my post from a few days ago to remind folks that this praise for Trump is wrong.
