Here’s my use case: I used to use a Kindle Scribe but found its note taking capability lacking. I replaced that functionality with a reMarkable. Now I would like to replace the ebook reader. I’d like th ability to better support local bookstores, libraries, and de-center Amazon.

I have used, and still have, the Kindle scribe. Getting documents to, and from is doable, but not the route I would want to go.
I have sense replaced that with a remarkable device.

Thanks @yetanothersql.com. I haven’t played with Calibre yet so that’ll be new to me too if I make the switch.

Anyone using a Kobo e-ink reader and using their book ecosystem? I’d like to hear your experiences, especially compared to the kindle.

Being the only morning person in the house makes moments like this possible. Enjoying the quiet, alone with my thoughts and coffee.

Battled clogs nonstop this morning until I finally had enough and pulled the blade. I gave it a proper sharpening. Can’t believe the difference it made. Yard’s wrapped up, fire’s going in the fireplace, and now I’m settled in for rivalry weekend football.

Had an awesome night out with my youngest daughter at the hockey game! The Havoc came to play and skated to a 7–1 win! We had a wonderful time and made some fun memories.

A well defined problem is half solved. Or put another way, I found the leak. And the valve is ordered.

My son and I toured the Mississippi State University @msstate campus and College of Engineering on Friday and stayed to see the game against #12 Arizona State University. We had a great weekend together! And wow what a game! #hailstate

12 miles of gravel this morning. It was my first time on this route. I’m thankful that much of it was in the shade. I’ll definitely be back, especially on sunny days.

Strava or AllTrails? Something else? What activity tracking app do you use? I’m primarily interested in keeping track of the miles walked, hike, and ridden (both road and mountain biking).

I’m back from my longest Appalachian Trail so far - 170 miles in 10 days. More pictures soon. A few milestones, we:
* completed VA, WV, and MD.
* crossed into PA.
* passed the 1,000 mile mark
* passed the 1/2 point of 1,090.5 miles
* entered our 7th state of the 14 states of the trail
* had fun!

Home repair kind of weekend. The downstairs washer had stopped working. Fortunately, it was an easy fix. I replaced the door lock solenoid and it’s good again. Then, the upstairs A/C unit stopped working. The condensation drain had gotten clogged which triggered the cutoff switch. #DYI

My view tonight. The clouds glowing with orange and pink as the sun dipped below the trees. The kind of sky that makes you stop for a moment and just take it in.

I reread George Orwell’s Animal Farm recently. It seems far more poignant today than my last reading in high school. I’d encourage everyone to read it again. It’s a short, easy, thought-provoking, and timely read.
