The target market for it is clear: it's people who need to do web browsing and basic office/school tasks, and it's advertised as such

I have an Air M3 (I'm writing from it :3 ) and it's fine, even if my model has 8GB since I bought it right before the refresh :(

At least Safari is VERY lightweight and fast, so Chrome might not even be in the equation

I have 16gb in mine, which is at least fine

The Macs are stuck at 8GB unfortunately

So I think it'll do well for the people who want An Apple just for web browsing and light tasks

I've heard the 18 pro chip is just about equivalent to the base M1 chip from a few years ago, which should be more than enough methinks

A bit more RAM (12gb?) might have helped but RIP pricing

I think Apple sees this as rich baby's/grandma's first laptop

So, to put it simply, they expect the users to only use a web browser to do stuff, and maybe occasionally a little bit of word processing
Which, despite what techtubers say, it's the vast majority of PC usage, not gaming or video editing

I refreshed all my tech in the last two years, so I'm covered, but I do reret not getting more RAM in my TV gaming PC (at least the PC was free)

Yeah, for that price, plenty of Windows laptops will ALSO have 8gb so
I feel like it's a compromise to not kill off the Air line, but it does feel limiting

The CPU is going to be the interesting part though
