Very sus indeed; everyone knows that the answer should be "vocal".
May they find their way to rest and peace, and those left behind feel comfort in their memories.
My condolences to Snapcat's loved ones. <3
We run conventions, local groups, telegram chats, small events, furmeets, platforms...
Not all of us remember the 2005-2008 backlash we got. But our answer was to literally become the most helpful sub-community in Furry.
And now, here we are.
We are to furries what furries are to normies.
Now to see if this behaviour from the con/group continues over a long period, or if it's just an appeasement for the backlash they recently got.
Been burnt WAY TOO MANY TIMES by short-term gestures to not be a bit doubtful as to how this will continue... if it does at all.
Time will tell.
"Look, we fucked up, we're sorry and we're going to try and make amends."
I'll take it and commend them for it.
But next iterations are going to be the real deal; if this vector continues, great and worth considering that con again.
If not, well... empty gesture and all that.
Time will tell.
I had one bite my small toe once, and that was more than enough for me.
I can't imagine the tongue being that way. x_x
So, so many NOPE...
And I feel for you, bun. You have ALL my sympathies. x_x

Poutine in Starfleet?
Poutine in Starfleet.

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE
Not just what you're going through is important; YOU are important as well. People like you are the best sunlight that our society needs.
Please contact those organizations, if they still haven't reached out. There's so much going on, they might have missed it.
Wishing you all the best. <3
Tholians would like a word, I hear.
Peut-être pas...
Mais...
Il pourrait l'être. X3
On a scale of Vanity Fair to CSI, how bad was it?
The one week I was forced to use GenAI at work, I felt... icky.
It was so, so reinforcing my "computed positions" instead of helping me think laterally that it creeped me out HARD.
Though giving it the same patterns as Bandit Heeler was fun, NGL. But that's the only good part of that week.
I'm not an artist, so I didn't feel right to reply.
But honestly?
Your attention to even the smallest detail, the texture work that is poppingly vibrant, how you make water feel real, your mechanical design skills, your top-shelf shading...
Those are all highlights of your work!! <3
Because the more I learn about it, the more I realize it is absolutely USELESS at what it's being sold to for; it's being sold on future POSSIBLE capabilities, not what it can do now.
And that's a HUGE caveat that might not even happen.
But it's really good at sounding sapient, however.
I just like learning how it works, just so I can better debate its uselessness in its current incarnation...
Bunch of those people make fun of us Furries for "anthropomorphizing animals", but gosh, they have NO IDEA how much anthropomorphizing they do of GenAI.
Zero self-awareness.
May your hardship be short, and your recovery easy and swift. :(
Also, the chinese bakery in the mall across from the hotel is AMAZING. <3
How long until she falls out a window?
Hopefully, you're considering stopping to see @annyraindragon.bsky.social's table? X3
Thank you for sharing a vulnerable part of you, bud. And for making such a powerful piece. <3
Have fun!! :D
Come on, let's go and play!
Right now, probably more of a slow roasting.
But give it a few years, between GenAI and climate change? And everything else going on?
Oh yeah.
My coding skills are intermediate at the best of times...
And my code is usually at least marginally better than anything I've seen GenAI puke out.
Using existing patterns to make something new is... iffy. You can't statistics your way out of an unknown, I'd say. x_x
I have no doubt you will find a way; you're a very clever wah, after all! <3
One step at a time and all that. :3
I've honestly have yet to see ANYTHING good that came out of an LLM.
"AI" is great at identifying patterns and doing brute force work in a different way, for sure.
But that means its actual applications are limited.
Code isn't one of them. Or scriptwriting. Or image generation. Et al... x_x
They haven't made a Jurassic Park movie after the second one.
It's a tough one to reconcile, for sure.
But that's Big Media... I'm more concerned with in-community things, honestly. And how some folks act within our own community, and use the same tactics as Big Business to profit off of the community, rather than do a more ethical-but-less-profitable thing.
