From Circana's PlayerPulse - US video game player sentiment around the use of generative AI is worsening. In December 2025, over 25% of players said the use of generative AI would lead them to refuse or be less likely to buy a game.

Reposting because in my first try I words up my mixed.

Does a video game aimed at a younger audience deserve less recognition than their more mature counterparts? It certainly seems that way, but it shouldn't.ย

The Knightling has a juvenile vibe, but it's still a rich open world with heart.

Accidentally hit the soft reset ABXY combination in LeafGreen and lost 2.5 hours of gameplay. Can't say that I'll play any more now, what an astonishing feature to have on by default

In 2019, I created #WhatAGameDevLooksLike after I was stopped by security 3(!!) times while picking up my speaker badge. Iโ€™m a small Asian woman with pink hair, and I guess I didnโ€™t visually meet their expectations of a speaker.

Ironically, I was at GDC to speak about inclusive studio cultures. ๐Ÿซ

You All Missed One of 2025's Best Open-World Games, and It's Time to Play It 2025 was a pretty phenomenal year for open-world titles of all shapes and sizes. While we got some fairly mediocre offerings, the likes of Atomfall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Death Stranding 2: On ...

"The Knightling is so unbelievably good that I felt it was my duty to not only tell you all to play it, but to remind everyone of the similarly excellent open-world indies that are at risk of being overshadowed by their AAA brethren." ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Just like with the level design analogy, it doesn't fit every team or process I think. For us it works really well so far! A big caveat is that you need to spend significant effort to keep things clean, although you also have that with Google Drives that get quite full after a while.

We still have linear documentation on there, but embedded in an open space that allows for much more than just text. Add to that the collaborative features, brainstorm features that are great for ideation, the drawing tools and you'll get a team excited to dive into the 'docs'.

Our whole studio shifted to Miro as our main documentation space and I grow more in love with it every day. It really feels like the evolution of documentation from standard doc formats and wiki pages - it feels like moving from linear level design to open world game design๐Ÿ˜‚
