The arresting opening cadenza of Florence Price's piano concerto. It's hard to believe it was lost for so many decades, only rediscovered in a summer house in 2009. Can't wait to perform it tomorrow with the Filharmonia Sudecka and Agata Zajac! πŸŽ‰ filharmoniasudecka.pl/en/event/wom...

On this #WorldWildlifeDay I’m reflecting on how fortunate I’ve been to encounter so much diverse wildlife. There is so much magic in our environment that needs protecting.

The Handbasket 100% independent journalism by Marisa Kabas

Now that CNN and WBD are set to become state media in a sale to Paramount/Oracle/TikTok, it is especially important to support independent media.

I would love to know the story of the guy in the main photo. He was living on this cliff, well over a mile from the nearest house. He was eventually picked up by Cats Protection, but part of me thinks he was quite happy out there as a beachcat.

The Americans Who Saw All This Comingβ€”but Were Ignored and Maligned Call them the Cassandras: the peopleβ€”mostly not white and maleβ€”who smelled the fascism all over Trump from jump street. Why were they β€œalarmists,” and how did β€œanti-alarmism” become cool?

those who predicted authoritarianism were both dismissed, & deeply misunderstood, by the media

The fabulous owl, Lady Jane Grey, with her handler, Pete, in Totnes, Devon.

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

Well, I did it. I just unpublished all four of my books from Kindle. As soon as the changes go through, they will only be available on other channels that nobody ever buys from.

So much for my writing career. AI needs to die.
