The world has lost a few cataclysm gay fashion designers in the last few years. We could use another.

I love that they depict the descent as slow, too.

The distance a meteor crosses in that instant that we see it arcing over the night sky is often twenty to fifty times the distance it would cross falling to the surface.

A bullet brighter than the sun and bigger than a scyscraper.

For a brief time, Manifold Garden was on Apple Arcade and it was pretty great to have something interesting to play on my MacBook Air.

Scouting America will alter its policies to maintain support from the US military, Pentagon says Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says Scouting America will alter several policies to maintain its support from the U.S. military.

Folks might want to pull their kids out of Scouts before they find their apple-cheeked darlings in a new Hitler Youth.

Now it’s buspirone for anxiety and duloxetine for depression. Now, I get to eat my trans-colored cake and hopefully have it too.

Also, big probs to New Mexico for requiring in-state insurance plans to cover mental healthcare at 100%.

I was coasting on sertraline and bupropion for a while, with meh results. The β€œI mean, you could just jump” thoughts were barely background static, but still there enough to notice. Being off of everything for six months has been…not ideal.

Had a decent first visit with a new psych Saturday (after five years) and got new scrips for head pills. Now I get to go through the pushing-my-brain-through-pudding phase of adapting to new chemistry.

Here’s hoping things level out on the soon side and the Swiss cheese in my skull behaves.

Yeah, it wasn’t that Americans weren’t traumatized by the deaths, we’ve just been culturally inculcated to accept that our deaths don’t matter beneath the Great Machine.

Yeah…I pass by it on my way to work and back every day. Right up on the edge of the Galisteo basin. Convenient cliff-side access for easy disposal of…y’know…uh…tires and whatnot. Grotesque stuff.

AI: Artificial Intelligence

Those were hours of my life and earned dollars that I have never and can never get back. For all the high-profile people involved with that movie, it was wretched.

Quote with 5 jobs you've had (yes, volunteering and internships also):

1. dock hand and groundskeeper at a lake resort
2. assistant manager of a blade shop
3. facilities maintenance grunt
4. Enrollment coordinator at a community art school
5. safety officer

I wish I was a) irresponsible and b) actively using cannabis back when I was working facilities at an art museum, because being stoned in a dark, deserted museum would be the closest thing to death without dying.

Junk Peddler and Home Girl sounds like the name of a band that would have one album release, a really popular six month local tour, and promptly dissolve to reform with the same members under a new name with a new passion project.

It’s be fair to call it half-and-half. Between seeing your cooking threads and it also showing up in a New Mexico cookbook I ended up with at a work Christmas party, I finally just went β€œfuck it, we’re doing this”.

I ended up, by coincidence, throwing adovada on our menu this weekend and cooking it for the first time last night. Not perfect but still fuckin’ tasty.

They’re fumbling a response to drones on the other side of the border.

11.02.2026 18:26 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Smells like bullshit. You don’t close a major airspace for ten days because of drone activity.

Absolutely fuck him for putting it that way.

I do like β€œgood”, though. β€œGood” is a challenge to be better. β€œGreat” feels more like a finish line.

Very interesting. Not only grounding all flights to and from El Paso Int’l but also closing the airspace entirely below FL180, including emergency medical traffic, is wild.

If we had a competent government, it’d make one think a credible terrorist threat was received.
