Pretty convinced that everything I've written in the last six months is not very good - but I'm certainly glad I've got it on the page rather than not.
Can only go up from here, right?

Well then, I'm as productive as ever!
Does staring at the blank page, trying to figure out how to end this script idea count?
What is writing, if not having two strong ideas for a feature film, and having no fucking clue how to stick the landing?
#Screenwriting

40 pages down on this new pilot - and I'm certain that 95% is unusable.
I'm so back.

Motoring through outlining of a feature and a few pilots in January, and genuinely pleased that it doesnt feel like it sucks.
Always good to feel excited about writing again...
Lets see how long it lasts.

Wowza!
That's an incredible effort!
I'm keen to find a working schedule for 2026 - it's been a chaotic year, - getting married or being away.
Trying to get some structure back and see some results!
Live forever?
I'll settle for just finishing a script.
#ScriptSky
Battling the calendar to end the year with three pilot drafts to my name.
It's awful - but it's on the page, so the work is only half done.
Onwards!

4/ These last 125 days have borne a twice-drafted pilot. My first short film, two new pilot outlines, and more progress on finally cracking feature films than I've ever had.
I'm on the path, better than I realise. Onwards.
But for now, I'm off to get married.

3/ I've also learned that no one finds their voice on the first try. It's a melting pot of inspiration, failures, blue-sky thinking, and more failures.
Be patient. Be kind. Be ready when the wave comes.
2/ I've learnt the value of seeing tangible progress. For all the internal motivation we have to battle the blank page, there is nothing quite as rewarding as seeing the words flow.
When all else fails, you write, then if that fails, write some more.
1/ After 125 consecutive days of writing - be it pages, editing, outlining, or tossing all of it out and starting again - I've discovered a few things.
For one, I'm better than I have ever given myself credit for. By no means perfect, but certainly on the right path.
Not one for Halloween, but I've found myself dressed as something scary - a writer with an idea that isn't terrible.
Better get ready to face my fears!
Onwards!

Found my way to the two best words for any writer...
"The End."
Now to find my way to the two most intimidating words for any writer...
"Fade In."
Onwards.

For the first time in ages, im genuinely excited to get back into outlining.
There is nothing like a new idea to get you excited for writing again.

How do my fellow writers elevate the execution of their ideas?
I feel like im good at having the idea, but then my execution is just "meh."
What am I missing?
#ScriptSky
Perennially stuck mere feet from unlocking the door, keeping me from being the writer I know I can be.
Playing it safe. Unable to take a swing.
On the cusp. Afraid to leap.
I'll get there -- hopefully.
#Screenwriting
That's it - I had a note from a producer last year which basically amounted to "You're a skilled writer for someone who only writes to 50% of your ability."
Felt like I was playing it safe - time to take some swings.
Damn - just a bit on your plate. I'm sure you'll find the right path.
Trying to figure out how to thread the eye of a needle.
Outlining two new pilots - both are balancing either multiple characters or timelines.
It's proving difficult, but I need to stretch myself and see what I'm capable of.
Yourself?
Two of the most gratifying words to a writer... "The End."

Re-watching Normal People to remind myself that there truly are different levels to this writing game.
Utterly incredible.
Blinked, and I wrote 8 pages.
Take that win.

Perhaps the greatest frustration on my writing journey to date can be distilled down to this -
"A locked door away from clarity."
I know im good enough. It's just not yet clicked.
I won't stop, no matter the headaches.

Happy to wrap another pass on #TheTendernessOfWolves
Plenty of work to do, but we're on the right track.
"A game hunter turned sheriff's deputy finds a new violent purpose in bringing law and order to a town intent on destroying itself."

Wading back into the wonderful waters of logline development.
I feel like Goldilocks.
Too wordy. Too vague. Too shit.
It's not just me, right?
#ScriptSky
This past month has been the most productive and positive period in my writing in years. I've found a consistency and routine that has me thinking more clearly than ever before.
It's not perfect, but it's 1% better than before.
Onward!
