12/ So in a way I suppose I can thank Gritz, Cooper, and the rest because it was these people whose noxious views offended me enough to do something about it.
12/ So in a way I suppose I can thank Gritz, Cooper, and the rest because it was these people whose noxious views offended me enough to do something about it.
11/ I was determined to do something to try to stop it, though I wasnβt sure what. Eventually though I came to the realization that sunlight would be the best disinfectant.
So I created ARC.
And that was almost 20 years ago now.
10/ By that time the Internet had become the primary means of disseminating hate propaganda and conspiracy theories so I moved to that platform and continued to gather information. This time though it would focus on Canada and there would be a purpose.
9/ In Canada the Heritage Front had been a going concern that I read about in the papers. By the time I went back for my education degree the HF was pretty much moribund, but then other smaller groups were formed.
8/ But in the back of my mind there was the troubling realization that while I was in possession of some knowledge, I really wasnβt doing anything to help mitigate the harms these people were causing. And they were indeed causing harm.

7/ Eventually I became somewhat of an expert in the field. Informally of course, though I did engage in an ethnographic study of the far right during my first undergrad degree in anthropology.
6/ Black helicopters, FEMA camps, The Clinton Chronicles, βJewish conspiraciesβ, Ruby Ridge. And a lot more of course.
5/ I listened daily though. I learned about the personalities. Who was connected to who. The alliances and the rivalries that existed. The often petty jealousies that manifested most commonly in claims the other guy βwas a fedβ.
4/ However instead of being attracted to the noxious ideologies being shared over the airwaves, I became horrified and disgusted.
3/ I was 16 when I first started listening. In retrospect I was a prime target for radicalization. Young, white, male. Not entirely sure about his place in the world. Not especially confident. Not many close friends.
2/ When I was a teenager in the early to mid 1990s I started listening to shortwave radio. I soon came across extremist stations like WWCR which hosted conspiracy theorists, militia members, racist groups, and Christian Identity preachers.
1/ Please forgive the following stream of consciousness.
Bo Gritz died at the end of February.
For most people that name might not mean much. For me he, along with William Cooper, Peter J. Peterβs, the members of The Right Perspective, and William Pierce were sort of foundational for me.
And not even exclusively the actors. I would like to see script writers and key grips and sound editors included.
Would be nice if United Artists actually went back to being owned by actual artists.
I wouldnβt be entirely surprised to learn that people who spend much of the year in the United States would sign this, though I am curious to know if the signers are all actually from Alberta.
I sometimes think that the IOC, FIFA, and the Trump regime are in a competition over which can be more corrupt. At this point I have Trump in the gold medal position with FIFA close on his heels in silver and the IOZ in the bronze position but getting a second wind and determined to catch up.
So honouring members of your country murdered by foreign invaders on your helmet is forbidden and gets you kicked up, but wearing a hat and promoting the corrupt project of a corrupt president is just fine.

I wonder how the separatists would feel about official canvassers bringing the Forever Canada to their workplace?
Also true.
Agreed. This wasn't really surprising at all, though it is still a bit jarring to read.
It appears to be a journalist named Tiffany Burns who died in 2024.
17/17 So, yeah.
Can't say that my skin isn't crawling right now.
16/17 As to the journalist in question, she appears to be Tiffany Burns who died in 2024. "The Calgary Herald" provides the reciepts.

15/17 Finally there is a later mention in 2014 about a blog that the individual ran.
14/17 And in yet another there was a message to Epstein inviting him to a charity dinner in Edmonton.
The journalist, at the time, worked for the CBC.
13/17 In another exchange there was a discussion about polo and an apparent invitation to the island.
12/17 In the exchange the journalist also says that they have been able to find the infamour island and replying "nice going!"
There is no indication the journalist was aware of what was happening on the island, though I have to imagine they knew at least part of the reson why he was in prison-ish.
11/17 We of course now know why he had such access.

10/17 This exchange is significant since it seems clear that the journalist was well aware that Epstein had been convicted and was, in fact, in contact with him while he was, theoretically at least, in custody as the journalist is surpised Epstein has Internet access.
9/17 Epstein appears to have been in contact with an Edmonton-based journalist who was in contact with Epstein regarding a documentary he or she (most likely a she) had produced. The journalist was enquiring if Epstein had yet watched the documentary. Epstein notes he was in custody at the time.
