I haven’t canned meat yet. Need to try that at some point. My last 3 deer I’ve had processed because it’s easier (though an added expense) so it comes wrapped and I freeze it.

What do you plan to make with it? Or do you just use it as regular meat/for anything?

And as far as “weird meat” goes, I’ve enjoyed squirrel too. It was honestly great.

I’m on the lookout for opossum. But haven’t found a dinner for that lol - might have to hunt it.

Haven’t heard of that being an issue here! I know rabbits in warms temps can have something (I forget what).

But it tasted like a beef roast, had the texture of dark meat chicken. It was really nice. I was pleasantly surprised and would totally eat it again. We both cleaned our plates.
