In Sep 1867, Pvt Randall Troop G/10th Cavalry Regiment escorted 2 civilians on a hunting trip. They became hunted 70 Cheyenne warriors attacked. The 2 civilians were killed, Randall scrambled to safety and fended them off with only his pistol.
