yeah, strong agreement here too; It's unfortunate, I'm weird enough to really want to like the game but it really is, after every tries, a hard nope, don't like it. I must be too casual :p

In all seriousness though it's quite studied that there is no strong correlation when it comes to IRL vs IG behaviours but the game may end up involuntary attract the wrong sort too.

as a sociological studies though, it's interesting how a lot of people seem hell-bent on ruining other people daysβ¦Β there's been people posting some "we had an instance were everyone helped each others" and some people were really angry at it, citing "I want to shoot at people".

And when I say "dying is not fun", in this game dying is not fun, the game loop is not fun and yeah surely because "skill issue" but it's beyond "some people aren't going to find it fun", I'm pretty sure the consensus is never going to be "After 50 hours it finally clicked".
Exactly, Marathon has many Good and even some Great, and I (personally) like the design, the art direction (when not stolen) and general feel, vibe of it.

it's just a very sadistic simulation of an environment where your colleagues always fail to understand what it is you want, where you cannot discern wether or not the thing is alive because it's certainly very good at being thick like us, humans.
yes, in order to use robots, one must steer the robots, so, questions questions questions till you get an idea of the context, then "plan", they refine the plans with more questions. If you don't know what you're doing with it, you certainly won't know what you're doing at the end of it.
