Reading week is upon us. We are having a friendly competition in our school. We brought it!

These 5th graders were trying so hard! I need to edit faces out of the fails because they were so worth the video!

I had an amazing sub that taught balls runs last week. Next week students will be adding in 2 more triggers. I am hoping to see some amazing chain reactions happening soon!! Here is a glimpse of one of the triggers being introduced!

We started our Rube Goldberg Machine building. We started tracks with triggers. Not bad!

Today we started the maze rotation! Students love to make and play them! Kinder did paper plates with foil balls and 1-5 are using Lego Bricks and a marble. I will get marble maze pictures tomorrow!

Anyone else doing this challenge??

More tower building! I love seeing their failures turn into successes.

I would appreciate it. My principal is going to try to figure out how to keep me but we are making 8 cuts. My program was on the list.

I am devastated as CCSD destroys programs due to funding cuts. If anyone in Nevada needs a determined, dedicated STEM educator, please let me know. I will be actively looking for a new home next SY.

This week we are testing out materials to see which is best for building the tallest tower! Did you know Tokyo, Japan is building a sky mile tower? It should be completed by 2045.

I am reflecting on this too. I use free play STEM style as a reward. I need to rethink this!
