While Dinamation did make a handful of cenzoic models, I think the spikes seen in this clip are from their Stegosaurus animatronic

I really like these twilight years of quetzalcoatlus depictions when the most certain thing anybody knew about it was that it had a long wingspan and a fairly long neck.

Three giant ichthyosaurs emerge from the water in front of a hazy, cloudy sky. The left animal has the arms of a large squid emerging from its mouth, and the right has surfaced far enough to show its front left flopper. The central animal looms above us, eclipsing the sun with its enormous snout. Two pterosaurs fly past the closest specimen, dwarfed by the emergent swimmer like pigeons circling a cathedral spire.

To paraphrase Bob Ross, you have to make the noises when looking at #paleoart, otherwise it doesn't work.

Updated Allosaurus skull at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science
It's worth noting that since this photo was taken, the skull on the Allosaurus mount has actually been changed to a cast of DINO 2560. Apparently the original skull cast was beginning to slide off the mount (and was lacking in a lot of detail) so it was replaced in Spring of 2016.

I would love to know why it was worse than imagined. I know what makes a good exhibit good, so I wanna know what makes a bad exhibit REALLY bad

Listen to/Living with The Land gets a free pass for having an actual greenhouse (same with the Living Seas pavilionβs aquarium) and so the science was literally alive. Universe of Energy got a facelift in the 90s but the science discussed within was pretty similar in both

I would lose my ever loving mind if somebody made a hybrid paleontology/health science exhibit that emphasized physiology and histology of fossils. (And if it already exists please, someone send me a video)

Itβs also worth mentioning that the original design philosophy of classic Epcot was to βinform, entertain, and inspireβ all at once. Not to say that there arenβt exhibits that do all of those things though, plenty do

Very few of the Epcot exhibits really emphasized up to date science, which is why theyβre better off being considered separate from a museum type exhibit. Some of them, like Frontiers of Medicine in Wonders of Life were updated regularly but then closed when the pavilion lost its sponsor

It feels like what would happen if somebody tried to modify an Epcot Pavilion by removing the rides and adding some fossils and extra interactive displays. (which would still be a cool experience tbh)

While I must admit that while LOT is severely lacking in comparison to other exhibits from its time like Prehistoric Journey or Deep Time, it looks so aesthetically pleasing. It feels like an explosion of Utopian Scholastic aesthetics (which also didn't survive past 2004)

I was asked yesterday to post a walkthrough of Life Over Time, the shortest-lived and generally weirdest iteration of the Field Museumβs fossil halls. If you visited between 1994 and 2004, this is the version you saw. Iβve got some time, so letβs do this.
