A cool idea that combined a bunch of things I havenβt really tried before, ended up failing because of something I really should be able to do.

May Day holiday weekend, and still work to do with the Black Plot Collective!
youtube.com/shorts/dT7s2...
With all the work with the Collective, and lots of videos, I had abandoned other growing spaces. Thankfully I have a few techniques to fairly quickly clear out the overgrown weeds.

Finally uploaded another longer format video to my main channel. The end of the month makes a great deadline!

It was not my intention to have the first three alternative narrators for the Black Plot videos to be the younger women in the Collective β¦ it just happened that way! #wherearethemen

A busy day in the Black Plot, and I am glad to be able to pass on my role as a narrator to others!
youtube.com/shorts/QZ__q...
After 9 years of uploading videos to my main channel, this is the first one I have made without writing a script first! I wonder if anyone will notice the difference?

Had some extra help in the Black Plot today, and help with making this video π

This is one of those things that I canβt believe it took me so long to figure out how to do #learning
youtube.com/shorts/hCr4D...
I guess taking a chance, to see if something will work, can actually be a useful way to learn, if I can handle the failure.

The last of the squash from last yearβs harvest β roasted, mixed with ricotta and sage to fill tortelli! Yum!

More spring crops finished in the polytunnel, making space for more tomato plants to go in #succession
youtube.com/shorts/Wz3TF...
I thought that seed rolls or seed snails could be an interesting option for propagating plants, so I tried them out with a few crops, and it is going to take more exploration to figure out how this method might be useful.
youtube.com/shorts/lkGkL...
It was really nice to have microgreens to eat earlier in the spring, as we were waiting for everything else to grow. But now that there is an abundance of salad greens, these trays of tiny seedlings seem too much of a hassle.
youtube.com/shorts/BHzwc...
One of the great things about our Collective, is it makes sense to sow a lot of some crops, and there are people to help with all that propagation!
youtube.com/shorts/R-YK4...
Needing to dig potatoes out of the no-dig garden, reminds me how strange and limiting our labels and ideas can be.
youtube.com/shorts/gR_rI...
Potting up, mixing more growing medium, and finally putting the vibrating sieve into action!
youtube.com/shorts/T7BGw...
I finally dug up all the potatoes from last year, and got around to making a video about it, just as we are planting this years crop.

Lots of work done today, the collective is working well!
youtube.com/shorts/9CULZ...
First update from the Black Plot Collective in a week!
youtube.com/shorts/l3aT-...
Yep, I am blaming the fact the tomato plants became too stressed, on the better propagation space, and unusually warm weather
youtube.com/shorts/yUcje...
Finally finished the No-Till trial beds, and planted some potatoes!
youtube.com/shorts/kRh3v...
We are having a fairly long period of dry, sunny and windy weather, which is both great when growing vegetables, and extra work!
youtube.com/shorts/GVfV9...
We need to eat more pak choi!
youtube.com/shorts/6iF_-...
The Collective was busy today, sowing and transplanting spring crops, and we are not sure the seed rolls we have been experimenting with are a better option than trays. Probably need to try some more. #exploration #adaptation
youtube.com/shorts/NDO7Z...
Possibly one of the best investments I have made in the gardens, saving me time, and saving the plants from my forgetfulness!
youtube.com/shorts/eSLp2...
I am glad we built that hanging shelf, to have a place to move vulnerable seedlings if mice or rats became an issue. Also glad the traps worked. #resilience
youtube.com/shorts/2ZLLL...
It has been interesting exploring using plant rolls, or seed rolls, or seed snails, whatever they are called!
youtube.com/shorts/z9hKu...
Finally re-starting the No-Till trials within the Black Plot, which I abandoned for a few years, because there were too many weeds. #nodig #notill #fail #weeds
