Young Alex Faraway and Big Ben, the giant construction-bot venture out of his workshop and into the darkness to investigate strange lights and sounds emanating from the old, abandoned junkyard nearby. A colourful countryside sunset glows on the distant horizon.

Young Alex Faraway and Big Ben, the giant construction-bot venture out of his workshop and into the darkness to investigate strange lights and sounds emanating from the old, abandoned junkyard nearby. A colourful countryside sunset glows on the distant horizon.

Big Ben’s spotlights cut through the shadowy gloom of the junkyard as the two creep cautiously into the maze of scrap-iron and discarded robots. Suddenly, Ben’s lights shine on dark, elusive creatures which scuttle off into the gathering shadows. Wicked, winking eyes follow their steps, and cunning minds plot their next moves.

Big Ben’s spotlights cut through the shadowy gloom of the junkyard as the two creep cautiously into the maze of scrap-iron and discarded robots. Suddenly, Ben’s lights shine on dark, elusive creatures which scuttle off into the gathering shadows. Wicked, winking eyes follow their steps, and cunning minds plot their next moves.

Rounding a sharp corner, Alex comes face-to-face with an unusual girl who has just emerged from a hidden tunnel from which glows a faint, bluish light. The girl kneels in the shelter of a large junk-pile, wearing odd leather buckskins and a turban round her head. Alex’s flashlight illuminates the strange scene before him. Suddenly, she glares at them and quickly draws a glow, sparking weapon from a sheath at her hip. “No, wait!” Alex yells!

Easy enough to follow for the first half. but harder science and figures made the second half a bit more challenging. Still very interesting, in terms of telescope development timelines.
I'm gonna end up reading a lot I think, b/c online is depressing.

I enjoy studying (and at least trying to comprehend) many things cosmic as well. They feed the curiosity of your mind and are great distractions from the usual news which can be a bit of a downer🙄
