I spent much of my childhood and teen years in churches. Preachers always talked about having discernment: being able to tell truth from lies, knowing good from evil, having wisdom. Now many American Christians are displaying an astonishing lack of discernment. They have lost their minds and souls.
A crosstitch that says I can do all things through spite, which strengthens me.

TikTok is back but like, in the way your long lost son appears on your doorstep after a mysterious disappearance & he looks & sounds the same but heβs harboring a dark secret and ok lemme turn off Lifetime
The TikTok shutdown was a political stunt manufactured to boost Donald Trumpβs popularity.
It did not work. Many on TikTok are now turning on Trump and TikTok leadership.
No matter where you fall on the TikTok ban, the President undoing by βexecutive orderβ a law passed by Congress and upheld unanimously by the Supreme Court is an unconstitutional abuse of power.
One of the worst things in sports is when there's a doink and then all the replays after the missed field goal don't have the doink sound again
Someone please gift me a little cabin in the woods so I never have to read a poorly worded corporate email ever again.

My dream vs my reality
Then, move on to the less pressing tasks that require less of your mental focus later in the day. I also take time at the end of my workday, not to actually complete tasks, but to plan the next day. So I know how I can still prioritize my rest but get the most out of it in capitalistic society.
Your brain is more clear and precise when well rested. Sleep is crucial to all of your bodily processes. So when you are maximizing productivity, you should always start your day off with the most important tasks so you can capitalize on your well rested brain. 2/3
I like to think of productivity like an energy bar in a video game. You only have a certain amount of moves before you run out of energy and have to wait. I like to use this to βwork smarter not harderβ because there is only so much you can do in a day without proper rest. 1/3
The most interesting thing about neurodivergence is the fact that I can write a fully fleshed-out research paper in a day because I procrastinated until the due date. However, trying to set my own writing goals for my personal projects are in fact β useless.

thread, up and down.
also, not to put too fine a point on it, if you are managing any kind of neurodivergence or mental health issue, shorting yourself on sleep will quickly turn that into a crisis.
If you donβt have a local library card, it should be your New Yearβs resolution to get one. Itβs an easy resolution to keep and youβll actually use it, trust me.
Screenshot of a post on Threads that reads: βI saw someone say that we are currently living through a serious empathy crisis. Theyβre right.β
Sometimes Threads gets it right.

Should I post to threads, bluesky, discord?
Can't decide.

"Because life is both very short and very long, and thereβs no point in writing something you donβt have your entire heart in, and thereβs no point in holding back, in regretting what you were too afraid or ashamed to share."
Yes, please. Write what you love & forget about pleasing everyone.
Previewed the first few pages and Iβm already hooked!
Honestly the names of her chapter titles made me giggle a bit and thatβs really all I neededπ€
Correctness is something that Iβve noticed more in recent years, as society has begun to question those who were once authorities in their fields (I.e. teachers, scientists, doctors). Strange how this is also coming about in a time of a nation wide literacy crisis as wellβ¦
I have always found it so interesting that we, as humans, really struggle to see when we overlook something. As someone who works with people, I have noticed that most people, regardless of their understanding, think they are the smartest person in the room at any given moment. This bias of -
That student seems like a real thorn in his side! What a prick! Lol
Great overview of places to get free ebooks/audio. Depending on your library, you may have a different amount of books you can put on hold/check out at one time on the apps. As for Edelweiss and NetGalley, I've gotten more than 400 books/audiobooks from them since 2018. #Booksky #BookBlogger
Whatβs everyoneβs favorite nonfiction book of 2024? I have been recently delving into more nonfiction lately, and Iβm curious as to what everyone else has been reading! Definitely would like some recommendations~
