While the Grok slop button has caused another surge, I doubt it'll last long, just like the other previous ones didn't last long.
In another article they said they use genAI for like moodboards and whatnot... which I mean moodboards are made of other peoples' work anyway, why not just make a moodboard yourself, and they have 23 concept artists which is a LOT, so why use genAI at all???
Not to mention, industry-standard tools like the Adobe and Autodesk suites have AI all over them. It can be hard for studios to avoid AI when the tools they use have AI built into them. The Photoshop Magic Wand is apparently "AI" now. But it isn't, it's a pre-existing feature. But they call it AI???
Honestly one of the worst things Gen AI does is how it's rolled so many automation tools that have existed for a decade+ into the black box of "AI." Everything from plagiarism machines to keyframing and procedural generation gets sucked into it, and it becomes near-impossible to tell how its used.

I really feel this. The most I can do is reseat things or set up a new SSD. The minute I have to start messing with cables, my confidence goes through the floor and I really really worry I'll break something.
Besides, if we're going to complain that Twitter's run by a nazi, it is also a global platform with many non-American and/or non-English communities. I'm going to keep using the platform that's burning his money and credibility on a daily basis.
Not to mention, Twitter does give me relevant news/information sometimes. Bluesky's "trending" is just 24/7 "America America America America America" which is just exhausting and often irrelevant. I like to say informed, but there's a certain point of relevance lost.
Not to say trying to do it ethically is a bad thing, but I'm also not American and I don't really care what Musk farts out because it doesn't really affect me. I have enough going on in life, my twitter feed lets me shut that bs, Bluesky doesn't really.
I follow my friends, and some of the artists who moved to this platform, but the feed is still barren compared to how much I can curate my twitter feed. Bluesky just doesn't do anything to "replace" twitter, and I don't care that Musk owns twitter, ethical consumption of media is p. much impossible
I have tried using this app for a while now, and it still continues to just... disappoint me. It still continues to mostly be just an American-centric echo chamber that yells about America America America all day long.
