US Rep Mike Bost (R-IL) & the Farm Bureau want to limit federal subsidies for solar projects on farmland.

"I'm not telling a person they can't do what they want with their property, but I do not believe we should be subsidizing them."

Ok Mike, now do ethanol and crop insurance.

Humanity heating planet faster than ever before, study finds Researchers identify sharp rise to about 0.35C every decade, after excluding natural fluctuations such as El NiΓ±o

The Guardian on our new study, which shows that global heating is significantly gathering speed. Our efforts to overcome our fossil fuel addiction should do the same.

BYD’s Second-Generation Blade Battery Makes Western EV Tech Look Ancient The battery can add a staggering amount of range in under 10 minutes. Here's just how quick it is, and how it compares to the best Western designs.

The latest EV batteries from BYD can charge to 70% in 5 minutes and 97% in 10 minutes.

They're leaving American manufacturers in the dust, and after Trump's all-out war on renewables and EVs, we may never catch up. China is probably going to supply the world.

Bird nests support a diverse, dynamic and distinctive macroarthropod community on the forest floor Nests built by vertebrates, such as birds and mammals, constitute diverse microhabitats that are inhabited by many arthropod taxa and represent important hubs of local biodiversity. New paper! Bird nests (Wood Warblers) are hubs of invertebrate biodiversity on forest floor, hosting more species/individuals than leaf litter. Probably due to heat & food detritus. Losing Wood Warblers = ecological networks lost. #ornithology

Israel is bombarding, literally bombarding, two Middle East capitals, Beirut and Tehran, killing 100s of civilians, and yet the US and UK media continue to portray Iran as the threat to the region.

Israel has nukes, but Iran is the nuclear threat.

We live in Orwellian times.

Climate change pushes tropical insects to their heat limit Up to half of the insects in the Amazon region could be exposed to life-threatening heat levels due to progressive, anthropogenic global warming. This is shown by a recent study by the universities of...

Your 'moment of doom' for Mar. 5, 2026 ~ RIP tropical insects.

"Since insects fulfill central functions in ecosystems as pollinators, decomposers, and predators, there is a threat of far-reaching consequences for entire ecosystems."

There is an assumption that democracies must basically be good and decent - but the freedom they bring often only applies to the in-group. Israel is a democracy yet it has killed a hundred thousand civilians in last couple years. The US is a democracy but acts as a drunk Empire.

You know what else died in the Middle East? The myth of Western humanity.

Western leaders they’re just watching hospitals and schools in flames and children buried beneath rubble.

I never want to hear any Western leader ever talk about human rights.

I too see and smell change (at least in West Cork).

Actually regards land and private property rights I see a big parallel between the behaviour of settler colonialists in the US with post-revolutionary Ireland. Almost a recolonisation of land here.

If we want a stable, secure, peaceful world, our governments should support democracy and self-determination everywhere, whether or not they agree with what the people want. Instead, for centuries, they have attacked democracy and self-rule, and we all live with the consequences.

We wrote this report with the OTB in mind, but it equally helps explain the Govnt's refusal to condemn the illegal US-Israel bombing of Iran.

'Ireland’s economic dependency on the US ensures that the US holds a de facto veto over Irish foreign policy.'

Deadly bombing of Iran primary school β€˜a grave violation of humanitarian law’: UNESCO The UN education agency, UNESCO, says that the bombing of a primary school during the US and Israeli military attacks on Iran on Saturday constitutes a grave violation of humanitarian law.

When the target of the much-vaunted β€œprecision weapons” deployed by Israel and its puppet, the US is a girl’s primary school, with 150+ defenceless children massacred, you’re left in no doubt that this is state terrorism and the perpetrators are vile criminals.
