Embedding EI structurally does not dilute technical rigor. It strengthens adaptive capacity, trust, and public confidence — especially under crisis conditions.
Credentialing bodies cannot claim professional maturity while leaving relational, ethical, and regulatory competencies unmeasured.
Measurement is legitimacy.
If emotional intelligence predicts leadership effectiveness and ethical judgment, it should be explicitly mapped to accreditation criteria — not treated as informal expectation.
Professionalization is structural, not symbolic.
If emotional intelligence is absent from our professional architecture, legitimacy fractures.

Under Trump, we’re witnessing increased, violent confrontations by federal immigration agents that are putting communities at risk, not keeping us safe. We must refuse to accept this as normal.
