I'm a vicar in a small rural village. I could never say this to my flock because of the outcry, but Reform are blatantly opposed to genuine Christian values and it's clear that anyone considering voting for them has not been listening to a single word I say each week

This doesn’t surprise me at all.

Running a Base, specialist style, ensures that no one feels alone.

My knee is very hurting. GP says bursitis, or, flatteringly, housemaid’s knee. OUCH

France dumps Zoom and Teams as Europe seeks digital autonomy from the US European governments are moving away from U.S. tech giants, opting for domestic or open-source alternatives.

Just caught up with this:

France is dumping Zoom and Teams. So are soldiers in Austria. And bureaucrats in Germany.

They are seeking digital sovereignty, autonomy from the American tech oligarchs.

Probably - although I would suggest that it is the skill of the adult that is the key rather than relationship. We can get very hung up on relationships and not define them very well

It’s WAY bigger than SEND. SEND is just a symptom (if you like) of a wider whole.

We need to look at our culture and what we are expecting of both children and the education system as a whole.

We have some very good and robust evidence on the use and deployment of TAs and that’s a really good place to start.

We really need to be able to say that it is not the thing, or the intervention itself that is the powerful thing, it is the way that it is applied in the hands of an emotionally intelligent teacher (or other adult).

Now THAT is an excellent question.

TBH, I think that the more we go down a medicalised line, and more we tie people in knots the more we disempower adults who support children.

I get the impression Isabel Oakeshott is suddenly going to be preferring the UK to Dubai.

Having worked with digital systems that generate targets and from which one can select interventions…that bit gives me concern and I’d like to be able to tell people in power why.

Schools are brilliant - but that doesn’t mean they should do everything.

Which I’m thinking is an argument for a better educated teaching profession with a greater requirement for further study

And we can use things like th Index for Inclusion to help us with strategies (or the advice of experts in their field)

Funny how all these “screens cause cognitive decline in schools” are only ever about the children maybe using a Chromebook. Not about the teachers using copilot l, or having to do everything online, or entering data into a massive panopticon.

It will open up options for regular frieghr trains from Europe.

The Railways Bill, currently in Parliament, will set up GB Railways & see Network Rail transfer to become part of it.

The Bill will also give GB Railways a statutory duty to promote rail freight, with specific growth targets set.

Yes. It’s a process - a verb - a thing we do. It’s a thing which changes according to the needs of the young people we are serving.

When I am out I always use my crutches and my wheelchair. Regardless.
I do this as a signal to others to watch out for me. It says, I am fragile, be careful around me.

Schools are the same- the capacity must include social and cultural aspects. This is the really hard bit to change

24.02.2026 18:35 👍 4 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0

Absolutely. It is hard. But educators, parents and researchers are very skilled at navigating this.

But the challenge is that SEND is also social and cultural- much more complex.

Eg. At home, sometimes I use my crutches. Sometimes I don’t. It depends on my physical symptoms.
