Book recommendation: Understanding Exposure. Bryan Peterson. Amphoto Books, 2004. Illustrates the effect of the exposure triangle, *and* why you would want to control it for creative purpose. Especially helpful to understand through-the-lens metering i.e. every camera since the Spotmatic in 1964.

Iβll start off sharing some book recommendations. Karsh Portraits. University of Toronto Press, 1976. This giant of portraiture also happened to be Canadian. He lit like Rembrandt and printed to maintain the effect. Mostly shot 8x10 with Kodak Commercial Ektar lenses - rendering exquisite tonality.
