Pilot makes a modular multipen called a Coleto that you can swap out different color inks but they also make mechanical pencil components for it. So I loaded it up with 2h, 2b, and 4b lead plus an eraser component and now I have the ultimate pencil, the Omega Pencil.

Finished Nine Sols at last. First game of the year! 21h, 9.5/10. It just barely misses a perfect ten due to some subtle flaws that added up. Pros: >Visual design and animation is always great, and often stunning >Surprisingly rich, tragic world filled with memorable characters >A rare instance of a good 2D platformer combat system, rewarding mastery, memorization, and precision (while looking sick as hell) >Soundtrack is gorgeous and used to incredible effect, by elevating the atmosphere or giving boss fights a whole extra layer of cinematic intensity >Boss fights are extremely memorable, savagely difficult, and look like an elegant ballet when properly executed >Yi is a very compelling protagonist Cons: >This semi-Metroidvania world design has a nearly-linear progression system that leaves zero room for sequence breaking >Sidequests could do with being signposted a bit better, although a more detailed map or the ability to make pins/notes would help >The red flash that indicates a heavy-attack is timed inconsistently from attack to attack, and is shared across several attack types (some of which can only be air-parried, some of which can only be Unbound Parried, and a scant few of which are wholly unblockable) which feels like a misunderstanding of the mechanic's visual language. Trial-and-error is an important part of the combat flow, but this one thing is simply unintuitive. >Some enemy attacks track Yi such an absurd distance that it feels unfair when they slide backwards to hit you across a whole screen >Gorgeous art is sometimes let down by a few cheap-looking Flash-style tween animations I made it 99% through the final phase of the True Ending boss, will update with anything relevant if the final cutscene of the true ending changes my opinions at all
