Twitch screenshot of me in my office. There's a big ol' 3D-printed Allosaurus skull right behind me, along with the Berlin specimen of Archaeopteryx (not the original, obviously) and some other paleontological miscellanea, including a half-finished Austroraptor model
It's Thursday BIRDSday, but before we dive into the various bird photos that chatters submitted this week, we'll be talking about some more #paleontology news and doin' some of our usual fossil science Q&A.
Feel free to drop in and join us now @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
2,000 followers!
My mission of science outreach & education is (slowly!) gaining a wider audience
Thank you so much for bringing knowledge to the masses!!
Twitch screenshot of me in my office, with a 3D-printed Tiktaalik lurking in the background, along with framed prints of other basal tetrapods, cladograms, homology diagrams, and other paleontological miscellanea
We're chatting about phylogeny, weird relic stem tetrapods in the Permian, baby pachycephalosaurs, and so much more on today's #paleontology #Twitch stream -- and you're welcome to join us!

Thank you very much for all you do in sharing natural history with the people!
Twitch screenshot of me in my office. Behind me are a life-sized 3D print of a gigantic Archelon rear flipper, plus a 1/3 size leatherback turtle, some ammonites, and some framed figures related to marine turtle evolution
It's a #TurtleTuesday stream today on #Twitch, wherein we'll be discussing the evolution of sea turtles (including my beloved LEATHERBACK) as well as whatever else the good folks in the chat are curious about.
Join us in paleontological camaraderie @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
Happy Monday Danny! thanks so much for all you do for us!
Twitch screenshot of me in my office, surrounded by various stop motion dinosaur film posters, framed photos of Willis O'Brien, and a 3D-printed Brontosaurus à la King Kong
140 years ago today, stop motion animation pioneer WILLIS O'BRIEN was born right here in Oakland, California.
We'll be talking all about his work & legacy on today's #paleontology stream on #Twitch — and how he introduced dinosaurs to a wide audience through his films

Happy Birds Day! Thanks so much for all you do!
Twitch screenshot of the "CAT CAM," with longhair domestic cat Sweetie Pie glowering into the lens as I brush her. There's various theropod dinosaur (including bird) miscellanea on the wall behind us
We're talkin' early dinosaur jumping ability, oceanic amphibians (!) and more on today's #paleontology #Twitch stream -- and you're free to join us @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
We'll likely be having LOTS of feline interruptions as well, so don't worry about being disruptive with your own questions
Having to watch out for the telltale shadow of a radiodont in the water column above you and then quickly burrowing into the silt to avoid their grasping appendages
Twitch screenshot of the "CAT CAM" as Sweetie Pie headbutts my face
We've got #paleontology news (and feline interruptions) galore on today's #Twitch stream — from theropods running like birds to alvarezsaur phylogeny shake-ups and four-eyed chordate ancestors 👓
Join us @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
hope you had a nice day out there at the museum!
thanks so much for all you do to bring science to us!
Twitch screenshot of me in my office. There's a slightly goofy pterosaur LED light on the wall behind me, as well as a lovely poster showcasing amniote phylogeny, as well as a huge Allosaurus skull 3D print (and a little life-sized Scelidosaurus skull print, too)
It's a casual #paleontology Q&A stream today on #Twitch, and we'll be trying to identify and remedy some common public misconceptions about dinosaurs and Earth history.
Feel free to join us and chat @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
another happy return! thanks for all you do Danny! hope your week goes great!
Twitch screenshot of me in my office. Behind me on the wall are a life-sized 3D-printed Spinosaurus dorsal vertebra and Baryonyx claw, plus various framed prints of spinosaur- and phylogeny-related images
We're talking more about Spinosaurus mirabilis today, and also discussing why #paleontology is important to modern society — and what paleontologists can do to improve public understanding of our science.
Join us and chat @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
Twitch screenshot featuring the CAT CAM, with feline landlord Minnie Pie stealing the show. I'm next to her, and there's various paleontological ephemera and miscellanea on the office wall behind me
We've got a brand-new spinosaurid to discuss today (Spinosaurus mirabilis!) plus whatever other topics the viewers are curious about.
Come join the discussion @ twitch.tv/paleontologizing
Twitch screenshot of me in my office, with all kinds of Triceratops stuff on the wall behind me (including a 3D-printed scan of a Triceratops brow horn)
I've got a feeling it's gonna be a Triceratops-heavy stream today (as my backdrop might indicate), since we'll be discussing the new Tada et al. paper on Triceratops nose anatomy — but we'll talk about whatever the chat is curious about, too!

This digitally painted piece honors the survivor spirit of the coyote by tracing its lineage from the first cells of life to the animal trotting our landscapes today. Below the horizon, carefully chosen ancestors mark pivotal moments in adaptation, each contributing to the form and survivor we see today. Above the horizon, Coyote stands alert at the center, framed by both Denver’s skyline and a mountain backdrop, symbols of their ability to thrive in cities as well as wilderness. Embedded in the ground are the skulls and bones of carnivores whose lineages ended long ago, emphasizing Coyote’s persistence in contrast.

What a beautiful depiction of the perspective that paleontology gives us —
that every living thing has a fascinating history going back *billions* of years, and we only have to do a little digging to find it
Happy Monday Danny! thanks so much for all the you do to help folks understand and learn more!!
Twitch screenshot (including the chat window) of me in my office, flanked by 3D-printed skulls of Dilophosaurus, Tehthyshadros, and Protoceratops, among other fossil miscellanea

NOTE: The lab experience is not available for 2026 because we're building the new lab, but I am hoping I can pull together the funds for 2027. I am very hopeful we might be able to get university dorm rooms for accommodation too. TRYING to make paleo accessible for all.
Incidentally, the main photo I chose was taken during lunch, that's why we're all sat around eating. Here's a photo (taken by Dani Barrera) of some work being done at the ankylosaur quarry.
