The award was conceived and established with the help of Andre Norton, who continued to support it for several years prior to her death in 2005. It was administered by Gary K. Wolfe @garykwolfe.bsky.social from 1985-2023, by Farah Mendlesohn @effjayem.bsky.social from 2023-2025.
