Not being told there was a risk of high levels of pain
No choices given for pain management
No discussion around how to stop the procedure and what this would mean for my care pathway
No advice to have someone there to drive me home
No response to my distress during the appointment or as a follow up
No record of my pain in my notes.

2/4 Although the level of pain I experienced during a gynaecology procedure was a key factor in my own resulting trauma, there were so many other confounding elements:

1/4 When a patient experiences high levels of pain during a #gynaecology procedure it can cause huge distress and in some cases lasting trauma. It can affect trust and leave people fearful to access future appointments that could be critical to health outcomes.
