3/ 📣 Contact your IL state legislators today to support the RACE Act (HB5414/SB2983) to restore voting rights for incarcerated individuals. bit.ly/TheRACEActEmail
#RACEact
2/ Forcing a person to undergo a medical procedure they explicitly objected to is a violation of dignity, autonomy, and basic human rights. Are these human rights violations a direct result of people incarcerated not having the right to vote? They have no representation. No one to hold accountable.
1/ What happened to Amy Hicks at Logan Correctional is deeply disturbing.
While in the custody, she was forced to induce labor against her will. The IL RHA affirms that reproductive decisions belong to the individual. That protection does not stop at the prison gate.
