Looking back, I wish the margins were wider & that I knew about color management before I laid it out... but it was my first project of this size and I think it holds up!
What will the final form of Public Access be? Who knows!! But you can help make it real.

A bit of a page from TTRPG Public Access, featuring a white box with some text visible. The box is punctuated by black lines, and the black background behind it has white lines that trace out an arc and some pointy upside-down mountain-like figures, and a circle sitting on the arc where it intersects the bottom border of the page.
White messed up and glowing text that says "Play Structure" in white. More wiggly messed up text is in green, fully illegible, on the black background behind it.
A screenshot of page from the TTRPG Public Access featuring the back of a person's head, upside down, reflected. A white line goes across to the line of reflection, then bends at the point that it reflects before fading away.
I don't really feel like counting anymore so here's some more things i like: the geometric ornaments getting more intense as the layers of TV Odyssey are described; the Play Structure cover page; how the border details sometimes interact with the art on the page.
A couple of cut-off page bits from TTRPG public access, featuring black lines and a little bit of text on a gray background. It includes geometric angled patterns that intersect each other, surrounding info like the section name ("The Keeper") and the page number (30).
Number 2 is these cute little borders in the GM section. They're a nod to New Mexico, and they gently echo patterns found in Navajo and Pueblo weaving.
Screenshot of the top right corner of a page from the TTRPG Public Access. The background is black with a white line terminating in a white box with a little black crosshair in it. Below that is some cut-off white text that says "Anatomy of a Character Sheet," with a little descriptive text below it. Underneath that is part of a character sheet diagram with camera viewfinder artifacts in translucent green overlaid on it.
A screenshot from TTRPG Public Access featuring the shiny, 80's-style logotype for TV Odyssey in blue and purple chrome, glowing gently purple. In the middle of the O is a cross-shaped lens flare. Behind the text is part of a black page with two silhouetted figures walking into a white triangle, but the image is cut off.
With the public access kickstarter coming up i wanted to highlight a few of my favorite little layout details in the original version! number 1 is the little crosshair in the border of the player-facing section. Is it a print registration mark? A camera crosshair? Or the pure-white signal?
idk I have some doubts about the word-picture exchange rate. Surely some pictures are worth more
I'm in this! Favorite playtest moment was probably when a poet got stricken with "tongue crawls out your mouth like a slug with a mind of its own" disease
Check it out!

no war no borders no cops no prisons no to all of this shit
Alex rocks!! Hire Alex!
Does it still count as writing into layout if you write into a Google doc and then paste half-finished text into layout just to see how it looks and then write some while you're in there to get a better sense of filling the space and then paste it back into the manuscript and then
Everyone should do this!! Will Jobst helped me survive the Humblizerβ’οΈ
A sketch of a woman with long wavy hair from the shoulders up, looking to the right, with a crown floating above her head. The sketch is tucked between areas on a character sheet, and a bunch of eyes are doodled in the upper right.
A sketch of a bald, somewhat alien-like creature with wings, a halo, an extremely skinny horse, and an exposed pole or spine thing connecting torso to lower body. A ribbon snakes its way around one arm and behind the head. It is squeezed between sections of a character sheet.
A sketch of a beatific winged figure in a cloak resembling a nun's habit, a throned halo floating above its head. An opening begins at its clavicle and descends, exposing the vague idea of organs behind draped cloth.
A sketch of a bony horned demon thing with a mask hovering in front of its face staring at a glowing rectangle that looks vaguely like a smartphone.
To commemorate the end of a great campaign of The Silt Verses RPG, here's a little catalog of character sheet doodles
tag urself, im Sink Cat
Ooh exciting to hear!
Not saying that if I work on your game it'll be featured on Quinns Quest, but it's weird that it happened twice
I made a layout template for this that I hope might be useful for folks even beyond Triangle Agency!! If you want to discover the joy of paragraph styles, check it out (files are InDesign but you can import the .idml into Affinity)

That is too kind!! I was gonna say that I am glad to have battled InDesign so the community doesn't have to, except it probably will still be a battle because InDesign is Cursed (technical term)
The cover of Blades in the Dark next to the cover of Blades '68
In celebration of the imminent Blades β68 campaign, I thought Iβd talk a bit about its graphic design.
BUT FIRST letβs compare and contrast with the graphic design of Blades in the Dark, a landmark in the history of RPG layout.
Type nerdery ahoy π§
Screenshot of a Triangle Agency themed visual novel with pencil art on rednote.
found out today that Triangle Agency is really popping off in China so we're looking through rednote and...someone made a visual novel???? multiple someones made multiple visual novels?????????

I've been a bit quiet on here bc all the dread, but I'm still making stuff!! Really excited about this one
'70s style pseudo-advertisement for "The Triangle Agency," depicting a groovy office space. text reads "More than a corporation. / As an employee, we provide you with not just a job, but a mission."
'70s style image for a course or seminar, depicting a big triangle cut into negative space around an orange-ish lined square. text reads "Resonance and You: A Practical Approach / Agent Training SeminarsβConcepts and Problems / PRODUCED BY THE AGENCY AS A PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERVICE"
'70s-style advertisement for "The Triangle Agency," featuring an image of Lee Majors and a slick sports car with photoshopped-on details. text reads "He knows there's only three ways this can go. Make sure you choose the right one. / The Triangle Agency works in secret to keep our world safe from dissentients, dissonants, and dissidents. If you see an agent in the field, no you didn't."
manual cover done up in the style of '70s EPA manuals, with abstract geometry and a black-and-white industrial landscape. the title reads "Reality and its Consequences," with other text reading "Field Agent's Handbook / Triangle Agency Series C / August 1974"
one of my long-running campaigns finally died. as an intermezzo before the next one, we've decided to to play a few sessions of Triangle Agency set in 1974
